Why Clean Water?

Over 600 million people in the world live without clean water.  

That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide (twice the population of the United States)! Most of these people live in rural areas and spend many hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Walking for water keep kids out of school and takes up time that parents could be using to earn money. On top of this, the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.

Access to clean water means education, income and health. And it makes the biggest difference for the women and kids of the communities without it.
